Pea Gravel 10mm
Predominantly golden brown and tan brown in colour is this popular quartzite gravel stone; Pea Gravel. Our range of Pea Gravel consists of rounded stones made from the premium and glistening stone; Quartzite, these decorative garden stones are very popular.
Pea Gravel is very similar to traditional 'Pea Shingle' and 'Golden Gravel' that we also supply. However, this stone is made of a more precious stone in comparison. As a result of this, Pea Gravel tends to be thought of as the premium stone option, and is more commonly used as a decorative garden border or within water features.
Due to the small size of this stone, this makes it suitable to use as a pathway or on a driveway. However, due to the stone being more rounded as opposed to angular, we recommend using this stone as a decorative feature, as the stones don't lock together as well as other suitable stones such as Shingle and Gravel.
This Pea Gravel is available in three different sizes; 10mm, 14mm and 20mm gravel

Pea Gravel for Your Garden
Where the popular Pea Gravel mainly consists of medium brown tones and the occasional red and white stones, this makes it the perfect decorative feature for traditional red brick houses that are wanting a vibrant and attractive border around their home, at the front or the back.
Adding decorative garden shingle instantly enhances your home and can even add value to it! A common use of Pea Gravel is to border garden paving of a similar colour, which really adds the finishing touches. People have also created a small area in the garden to have the Pea Gravel as a feature piece, where they can plant flowers within this area or simply have as a statement piece.
Pea Gravel for a Pond or Water Feature
This rounded, quartzite stone is the perfect addition to any form of water feature, whether it's man made or more natural. The array of colours can definitely be appreciated more when the stone is wet as the colours deepen and the browns and occasional reds are much more defined.
Our Pea Gravel is also great for adding to pond surrounds, and is completely fish-friendly if you want to put the gravel within the pond itself! When you are creating a pond that you want to look more natural, adding decorative stone like Pea Gravel can really enhance the look as well as how natural it is.

How to Lay Pea Gravel in Your Garden
Incorporating Pea Gravel in your garden can be a nice, easy task for the intermediate DIYer or Gardener. As a leading decorative stone supplier, we sell all the equipment you need to make this job a breeze! Read our basic guide below which will give you some tips to consider when installing Pea Gravel as a decorative garden feature.
Assuming that you're installing Pea Gravel as a decorative garden border or feature, you might want to lay a stable base; for this, we recommend using Limestone Type 1, also referred to as MOT Type 1, which is a graded, 40mm Limestone. This isn't 100% necessary for decorative features, but is recommended for drives and pathways.
It's always good practice to measure the area that you'd like your Pea Gravel to go in, once you've done this, you can then use our Quantity Calculator to work out how much base layer and Pea Gravel you'll need.
For garden borders and decorative features, we would advise you to use Weed Fabric which guarantees weeds won't get through for years to come, ensuring your garden border or garden feature still looks its best! These come in multiple sizes for you to choose from.
The only maintenance that would ever be required once you've laid your Pea Gravel, is occasionally topping it up every year.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
